THE WHITE HORSE DONATES The Connecticut Food Bank received a check for $4,000 from the White Horse Country Pub & Restaurant in New Preston. The funds were raised through the annual sale of the White Horse’ unique Christmas ornaments. All of the proceeds were donated and will provide 12,000 meals for those in need, according to Cheryl Thompson, director of philanthropy, for the food bank.
The White Horse was recently honored as one of the best restaurants statewide by Connecticut Magazine. Yankee Magazine calls the White Horse the “Best Classic Pub New England” destination, said owner John Harris. “I have a great culinary team,” Harris said. “It is all about flavor and ingredients. We’re just going with the highest quality available at all times, changing the most reasonable price for it. We strive every day to reach the highest standard possible.”
