WHITE HORSE DONATES TO STATE FOOD BANK 2014
Christmas ornaments purchased at the White Horse Country Pub in Marble Dale during the holiday season surely brightened the lives of a many an area resident. Proceeds from those purchases have since helped out many others more needy during a long and cold winter. The White Horse continued its young tradition recently by donating $3,000 raised from those holiday ornaments to the Connecticut Food Bank. That donation should help fund about 9,000 meals, according to the food bank. The White Horse was recently honored by Connecticut Magazine as their readers' and experts' choice as "Best Value Statewide" and "Best Prime Rib Statewide." Yankee Magazine calls the White Horse the "Best Classic Pub New England" destination. "I have a great culinary team," said owner John Harris. "It is all about flavor and ingredients. We're just going with the highest quality available at all times, charging the most reasonable price for it. We strive every day to reach the highest standard possible. "Every customer who comes in here is made to feel welcome. We're just happy to see everybody. ... That is the nature of the business. it's a place filled with people, filled with contentment."
